Sukkot at the museum

Sukkot in the Negev Museum

During the three days of Sukkot, October 17-15, the Negev Museum complex in Be’er Sheva invites families and children aged 12-9 to engaging and enriching activities inspired by the international exhibition “The Event of a Thread: Global Narratives in Textiles” with the museum’s guidance staff.
Every day at 10:30 and 12:30 there will be open guided tours for the audience (at no extra charge) during which the audience will be able to hear about the story of the fabric in different cultures, and to know the different meanings and roles it serves in different peoples and countries, through the items presented in the exhibition.  On Wednesday another tour at 4 p.m.

Every day at 11:30 a fun workshop will begin, and participants will be able to create an original piece of their choice inspired by the exhibition such as creating a collage of fabrics, making a manual loom and weaving it in twos and making useful or decorative items from colorful fabrics. At the end of the workshop they will take the artwork home as a souvenir and as a decoration for their room.
