A Well: Highlights from the Collection of the Negev Museum of Art06.06.2025 - 18.10.2025 סיור וירטואלי

The exhibition presents a selection of works from the collection of the Negev Museum of Art, normally kept in storage, hidden away from public view, and includes mainly Israeli art in the mediums of painting, drawing, sculpture, outdoor sculpture, printmaking, photography, and video art. The featured works were made by artists of different generations, who created in a range of artistic styles, assuming different positions along the spectrum between work anchored in reality and the exploration of art and its intrinsic values.

Gabriella Klein’s curtains and drapery murals are incorporated into the display of the historical collection as a compelling backdrop, a deceptive trompe-l’oeil, and an act of painting trickery. The encounter with artworks from the collection, which have been stowed away from the public for many years, imbues these murals with the symbolic significance of unveiling.
